I’m back, kind of, of it took a while. I’m not sure what happened. One day it was the week before Easter and I had loads of ideas and blogging energy and now it’s mid-May and I haven’t posted anything. How does that work?
How do you keep yourself blogging?
I know that scheduled breaks are sometimes needed and that’s fine. But I didn’t plan on being away for this long. I think I should have taken advantage of my blogging/writing energy when it was there and should have taken the time to pre-write loads of posts.
Is that what you guys do?
I’m surprised that blogging is just like exercise, which I also lost somewhere on the way. If I skip a few days it’s oh-so-hard to get back into it.
I keep re-considering whether I want to keep blogging at all, but the answer is always ‘yes’. When I do it, I love it. Again, just like exercise.
So, here we go again. I missed you guys!

I can’t say that I write ahead but I certainly always mean to. Instead, I just make certain days of the week that are expected for blogging — Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I’m not as consistent as I want to be, but I still feel like I’m out there in the community doing stuff. The bigger problem for me has been keeping up with the actual reading!
I don’t. I think I need to start heading to the library or some place QUIET away from distraction for a few hours on the weekend to get some posts written. I WANT to blog but by the end of the day I’m just too tired and can’t care enough to make myself do it. Perfect analogy to working out! Something else I need to do but just can’t make myself… π
You don’t? I keep you in my head as a good example, you post so regularly! I think you’re on the right track with the library thing, knocking out a few posts at a time seems to be the way to go. And, um, I think working out should be the furthest thing on your list, no? π
Oh I totally know what you mean! Some weeks, I write five posts, no problem, and then the next week the days slip away and before I know it, a full week has passed without a single post. For me, blogging is the same as housecleaning (although I like it much more!): I just have to jump in and start, and then I can’t stop! Good luck! Glad to see that you’re back!
Yeah, I’m like that too, once I get into a routine with it I can’t stop either. I need to do what you do and write several posts at a time when I’m in the mood.
It is tough. I don’t think I’ve blogged regularly for at least a year, so I definitely don’t have any answers. I too am hoping to get back into doing it regularly. Good luck with finding your mojo!
Hi Kristi! Do let me know If you discover some big blogging mojo secret! π
