Someone recently asked me about this beautiful new item I have hanging on the wall of my work space.
I picked it up in a hippie store in San Luis Obispo, California. It was hanging on the door and sang to me immediately.
I recognised that enjoying the journey is something that I need to be reminded of. I lose sight of this all the time. It isn’t about achieving another goal or about getting to a certain point by a certain time. It is about enjoying the process, learning from every step, finding the beauty in the journey itself. Even if things sometimes go slower than I would like them to. 😉
The words are so simple and sometimes I catch myself judging myself for needing reminding.
Being conscious of this makes me realise that I’m too hard on myself. I’m doing enough. And I love that I am aware of this truth and can find the beauty in my journey. The joy in experiencing rather than in arriving. I am grateful to be living my life in this way.
So much insight from one question. See, guidance is everywhere!
🙂
How about you?
Can you tear yourself away from focusing on your destination?
Can you find joy in your journey?
Let me know in the comments!
Love,

Joanna, during the summer I climbed Glastonbury Tor – quite steep with lots of steps!! I was determined to get to the top, but once I was up there I only stayed for about five minutes – I really didn’t feel the need to stay any longer, and although I had really wanted to make the climb, I realised that it was the climbing up that had been important to me. (I was very proud of myself afterwards for doing it, especially as going down was just as hard!)
Denise, what a fantastic story and great symbolism for our journey, I love it! You should Totally be proud of yourself, that’s a huge accomplishment – and realisation! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
