A few years ago, I had my first session with a channel. She told me many things that made sense, and many that made no sense at all. One of these second ones was that at some point in my life, I will have the opportunity to try intuitive art, and to take that opportunity. That’s all she said about it.
I had no idea what intuitive art was. I tried to find out, every time I felt hopeless or lost. I believed that it would help me, if only I could find it. I googled and googled all the related search words I could think of, but never found anything.
And then I forgot all about it. I did things that made me happy, which included singing in amateur productions of Broadway musicals. During one of my rehearsals, an old friend showed up to help with something and we started chatting. She had just started her own coaching practice, using intuitive art.
You never know when your answer will show up. So you need to pay attention all the time. What if the guides are sending you what you need right now but you’re distracted?

One of the first exercises I did with my friend (the amazing Tanya Arler, on her way to becoming a world-famous motivational speaker), was about success and abundance. The idea was to identify what your vision of success looks like, so that your path can become clearer.
I wasn’t very surprised to find out that my version of success was a combination of lots of small projects and passions – I get bored so quickly and always have lots going on at the same time. What I WAS surprised about was that this was ok. Whatever my vision of success looked like, it was ok. I was enough. I didn’t have to try to be someone else.
This was really the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life. Details of my version of success started to become clearer, and abundance started to flow. But it all started with being ok with my version of success.
In order to move forward on my dreams, I had to stop listening to other people (my mother!) and stop striving for other people’s dreams (my father’s!). I had to be honest about what makes me happy and what I want my life to look like.
To discover what YOUR version of success looks like, draw a mandala.
Mandalas are round drawings, and I use them in my work because they are a great way to bypass the ego mind and let your soul speak out. Follow this process to gain insight into your version of what success looks like (get some paper, colored pencils, and a round plate first!):
- Set an intention. Say something like : “I am drawing this mandala to explore what success looks like to me. What is my very own version of success?”
- Then, close your eyes and connect with this question for a few moments, until you feel ready.
- Make a circle on your sheet of paper (I use a plate turned upside-down) and start drawing whatever comes.
- Do not judge, do not think, if your mind starts questioning, gently turn it back to focus on your question. It doesn’t have to be symmetrical, and it doesn’t have to look like a flower or even anything recognizable. Just draw whatever needs to be drawn.
- As you draw, note down any words, phrases or ideas that come to you. These are your messages. This is what your soul, your higher self, wants you to know right now, to ease your journey.
- When you’re done (you’ll feel when you’re done), look at your mandala. Does anything else come to you? Does it remind you of anything?
You might want to journal for a few minutes and see what else you get.
If you try this, make sure you let me know how it goes, leave me a comment below or send me an email!
