Creative manifesting

I am not an artist. When I was little, I was told that I had zero talent for art, so I stayed away from it from then on. I was always creative in my thinking, and I loved to do theatre, but making stuff with my hands was off limits, somehow.

Then I was nudged in the direction of intuitive art, for personal development. I resisted. I didn’t want to get dirty, I didn’t want to create something ugly, I didn’t want other people to see what I created. I needed to let go of my expectations. I needed to just go with the flow and see where it led me. And I needed to focus more on the journey than on the result.

Do any of these lessons sound familiar?

They should, as they are some of the most basic truths we are repeatedly asked to accept during our physical lives. To enjoy the journey, to go with the flow of whatever feels good, to not care about other people’s opinions.

Since starting on my own journey with creativity, I have learned to make it part of my process. I use art with my clients and I use it o build my business. It is a huge part of what I do and who I am. It has helped my manifesting mojo immensely, and I would love it if you tried it on yourself.

Here are 3 ways in which being creative helps your manifesting skills:

  1. You learn to focus on something other than your thoughts. We get really focused on what’s going on in our heads… which means that we’re not leaving space for wisdom to come through. You have all this wisdom at soul level, and you have guides that want to help you, but none of that can come through if you’re going around in circles in your mind. Doing something creative, making something with your hands, shifts your focus, which in turn creates space for all that wisdom to become clear.
  2. You see where your resistance is. Maybe you refuse to color outside the lines, or won’t do anything with your eyes closed. Or maybe you get incredibly frustrated if what you’re creating doesn’t match the vision in your head. Whatever the resistance you experience during your creative process, you can bet your ass that your resistance in life will be similar. When I started working with intuitive art, I got completely stressed out any time I was asked to try something new. And in my life, I had trouble leaving my comfort zone… Coincidence? 😉
  3. You are encouraged to let go of the outcome and do what feels good in the moment. This is probably one of the most important lessons there is. Isn’t this how you’d like to live your life? To trust that the outcome will be exactly what it’s supposed to be so you can focus on what feels good in the moment? It’s much easier to learn this skill through art than it is in real life, you have to start small with these things, not to get overwhelmed.

So, did I convince you? Will you add creativity to your life and to your manifesting repertoir?
