Identity is something I think about a lot, because I think it's the essence of manifesting. As in, manifesting isn't about what you create bur rather who you become along the way.

If you want to create something specific in your life, you need to become the kind of person for whom what you want is a natural experience.

Otherwise, it won't be an energetic match, and you won't be able to have it.

This means that when thinking about manifesting something you want in life, you need to stop thinking about the external thing you're creating, and instead think about who you need to be to have it.

Don't let whatever you've decided about the kind of person you are and what's possible for you stand in the way.

You can CHANGE your identity. You can CHOOSE how you see yourself.

These things are possible because identity isn't a fixed thing - at least most of it isn't.

The bit about where you were born and where you come from is pretty fixed.

But the rest of it?

It's all beliefs, thoughts, assumptions, decisions, choices.

All things you can change if you want to.

And since your identity creates your reality, this is probably something you want to pay attention to.

The things you're seeing in your life, the experiences, the opportunities, the people, they're all a result of something in your identity.

Your identity helps you manifest - if you identify as someone who is bad with money, for example, chances are you'll manifest lots of examples of that. And it's much easier to start thinking of yourself as someone who is good with money than try to be good with money when you believe you're not.

Think about it:

If you consider yourself the kind of person who's outgoing and likeable, you probably attend parties and have lots of friends.

If you find yourself to be socially awkward (like me!), then you're probably more of a homebody.

If you think it's easy and fun to make money, you're more likely to see and take opportunities in this area.

You'll act differently and make different choices if you think of yourself as confident, a fraud, inspiring, boring, ambitious or lazy.

Plus when you shift your identity so that it's aligned with what you want, it'll be easier to make the choices that'll get you the results.

How you see yourself will literally create your reality.

It follows that we should all:

1) make an effort to be aware of what identity we're currently wearing and how it's shaping our reality

2) get clear on what we can replace with an identity piece that's more supportive of our goals

No matter where you are on your life journey, I strongly encourage you to make space to do these things.

I'm currently doing my next piece of identity work using the process I share in this class. I'm healing my witch wound, and stepping into more openly living a life full of magic and intention. There are many aspects of my current identity that I need to release first... and thinking of it as a cloak I can take off makes it feel easier.

How about you? When you think about what you want to experience more of in your life, what aspects of your identity do you know you need to change? Let me know in the comments below.

Happy identity shifting!
